Our History
In late 2005, about 80 top leaders and thinkers from the academic, legislative and industrial communities got together to discuss the current and future workforce shortage in allied health professions. This gathering was called the FuturePoint Summit. The group exchanged ideas and mapped out a framework for a national coalition that would identify and address the primary issues facing the allied health field.
FuturePoint Summit II was held in June 2006. The group drafted a charter for the coalition, created an implementation plan and declared an official name.
And so the Allied Health Research Institute was born.
Today, we continue to promote the field of allied health with qualified professionals and to develop better, more efficient models of care.
